First Masters graduated from dual education program of KPI and Progresstech Ukraine

The dual education program of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Progresstech Ukraine welcomed its first graduates. The participants of the program, launched in 2017, studied at KPI in combination with on-the-job practical engineering training with Progresstech Ukraine.

The graduation ceremony was held at KPI on 23 January 2019. Unfortunately, not all graduates could attend the ceremony. Two of them will receive their diplomas upon their return from a long-term business trip in the U.S., where they work on-site for a Progresstech Ukraine customer.

In December 2018, all 12 graduates successfully defended their Master’s theses based on business research at Progresstech Ukraine. The company will implement the engineering solutions suggested by the graduate students.

The joint KPI - Progresstech Ukraine master’s program, launched about 2 years ago, was the first public-private training program for master’s students in Ukraine. The unique approach gave students the opportunity to study at a leading technical university directly linked to a leading company in the international aircraft industry. Progresstech Ukraine employed the students on project teams working with the world’s leading aircraft industry companies.

Since 2017, students have been enrolling in the dual education programs on an annual basis. The educational program lasts for 16 months. To enroll, applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree from any technical university in Ukraine, pass an interview with Progresstech Ukraine, and be admitted to KPI’s aircraft industry master’s program.
